GUILTY AS CHARGED is a cinematic concept EP that takes place inside a courtroom, guiding listeners through the emotional journey of being accused, misunderstood, and ultimately searching for peace. Each track acts as a chapter in the trial — from committing the “crime,” facing public judgment, and battling inner conflict, to finally reaching acceptance and emotional freedom. The project explores the idea that accusations and perception can become louder than the truth itself. At its core, the EP asks: if people have already decided who you are, do you continue fighting… or simply give them what they want just to find peace?
Inspired by artists such as The Weeknd, Brent Faiyaz, Frank Ocean, Michael Jackson, and Tyler, The Creator, Jarrett blends dark R&B, cinematic storytelling, and theatrical imagery to create an immersive listening experience. Neon lights, courtroom imagery, motel aesthetics, and themes of romance, toxicity, guilt, and redemption all shape the world of the project. Sonically and visually, GUILTY AS CHARGED feels like a confession unfolding in real time — dramatic, vulnerable, and emotionally charged from beginning to end.
Every case begins with a charge. Every charge begins with a story. I was never meant to play it safe—I was made to push boundaries, to test the walls they built around me. They call me reckless. They call me defiant. Maybe I am. But every bad boy has his day in court.
You can run from the truth for a while, but the balance always finds you. The pain you’ve carried. The harm you’ve caused. The lies you’ve lived. At some point, the evidence speaks louder than your defense. And when the time comes to clear the bill… there’s no hiding from the debt.
The verdict is written in my scars. Guilty—not because I’ve lost, but because I’ve lived. Every trial, every betrayal, every fire I’ve walked through has left its mark. But I don’t bow my head. I don’t flinch. I stand before the court of life and I own it all. Guilty as charged. The final verdict isn’t punishment—it’s release. After the chaos, the sentence is silence. After the fight, the sentence is freedom. They can stamp their judgment, close the case, and walk away. But me? I walk into peace. And that’s the only verdict that ever mattered.
